Fire Equipments

Fire Equipments -To achieve this goal we will select an engineering firm that will complete evaluations of all factory buildings. The outcome will provide a measurement of risk and will indicate specific corrective actions
We have hired a fire safety project manager and a civil engineer to track the progress …

ERT procedure

For the control and managing emergency situation, the site should organize Emergency Response Team (ERT) and train them according to this procedure.

The ERT should be recognized easily through wearing high visible vest, different color hard

hat with special mark etc. At night when the site personnel are off-shift, the ERT function will be assisted by the Security personnel. In the event of an incident, the ECC area will become the Incident Command Center and therefore these areas will be supplied with smoke detectors, gas detectors and the safety equipment (i.e., SCBA). The ECC is located close to the primary Muster areas to allow communication with the Muster wardens and to allow rapid evacuation of the ERT from the ECC in an emergency. An ambulance and medical personnel shall be prepared in medical center.

Key Steps in case of Fire & Gas Leal for ERT

  • Fire Equipments
  • If fire is minor, it is everyone’s responsibility to raise the alarm by using any devices or just shouting fire, fire and extinguishing the fire by using fire extinguishing equipment
  • If fire is of major nature, follow the procedures as described below:
  • If fire breaks out at the site, muster at designated Muster Points and wait for further instruction by supervisor.
  • Prepare fire equipment such as fire extinguishers & fire hoses.
  • If a Porta cabin is on fire make sure the electricity is turned off.
  • Roll out the fire noses to the maximum extend.
  • Make sure the nozzle is properly attached to the hose before pressurizing
  • Start the water pump at the pump’s panel.
  • While someone is holding the hose, turn on the hydrant’s valve using the specially provided wrench.
  • Two members of ERT team must operate each fire hose. One will have to hold down the hose approximately three meters from the nozzle and the leader will have to control the nozzle operation opening.
  • Open the nozzle in the “fog protection” phase before approaching the fire.
  • Switch to desired water spray method by turning the nozzle clockwise or counter clockwise when possible
  • Always consider the wind direction. Always approach the fire from upwind where the wind is behind you
  • Spray the fire until the flames have been extinguished. Try extinguishing base bottom.
  • If the main fire is out of control, spray the adjacent equipment to avoid the spread of fire
  • If you use fire extinguisher (powder/co/water), prepare and test the extinguisher before approaching the fire. Making sure nozzle plug/cover is removed.
  • Do not use water on any electrical equipment or adjacent to electrical Fire Equipments and source
  • As much as Caron dioxide is effective on the electrical equipment, it is not so useful on other fire categories (i.e., oil, wood, etc.)
  • Spray the fire with extinguisher  by applying the sweeping method, and from baseline. after the fire has been extinguisher, do not turn your back on the fire Step backward then turn around to leave.

Conclusion

Fire Equipments is very important for any garment or textile industry
