FLEXlm HOSTID
Lectra software is used for making sewing pattern, vogue patterns, mccalls patterns, simplicity patterns, butterick patterns and others necessary pattern according to buyer requirments. We are trouble shooter of fashion industrial software like Willcom, Barudan, Lectra, Gerber, iEcho, Lectra Plotter I Manager Software, Datacolor, Shedomaster, Batch, Qc etc. Lectra products have FLEXlm HOSTID which can also access a .lic file through a network under the Lectra FLEXlm Server license server. When anybody use lectra products with a networked license, or a floating license, he or she should share licenses with other users on the same network. There are four kinds of FLEXlm or flexlm -96 HOSTID developed by lectra. The ids are
- FLEXid number
- BlueKey number
- GreenKey number
- MAC address
FLEXid Number:
The FLEXid number is a Dongle Key connected by USB port. All FLEXid has an unique number where the numbers can be recovered by lectra tools. If these tools are not available than the external number written on the Dongle Key can be used to obtain a license, they should be identical.
BlueKey Number:
BlueKey number is a special type of dongle that is connected to the USB port. All BlueKey has a unique number. This number can be recovered with Lectra tools. If these tools are not available, the external number written on the Dongle can be used to obtain a license, they are identical. This consists of a prefix (1-),followed by a number
GreenKey Number:
A GreenKey number is a different type of Dongle that is connected to the serial port of a Workstation. GreenKey also generate a unique number. This number can be recovered with Lectra tools. If this tool is not available, the external number written on the Dongle can be used to deliver a license, depending on this external number, the GreenKey HostId can be retrieved
MAC address:
A MAC address is used by NIC- Network Interface Card that generate a unique number for each. Generally this device also called ethernet card that have 12 character code consisting digits from 0 to 9 and letters from A to F.
Installing a FLEXlm HOSTID by LectraFLEXlm Tool:
All lectra products need to install the Lectra FLEXlm tool. The installation procedure of this tools are given here. The flexlm download is easier from internet.
- First click Start Menu
- Then click All Programs
- Then click Lectra
- Then click Tools
- Then click FLEXlm. After that the following window will be displayed
- Anybody can be saved HostId in a file by using the button numbers
- The FLEXid license number is showed only when required driver is installed. The driver is installed automatically during the installation of Lectra Modules.
- For GreenKey, the port selector allows users to change the serial port to which the GreenKey is connected. The button can be used to search for the port automatically.

- First click Start Menu
- Then click All Programs
- Then click Accessories
- Then click Command Prompt
- When a black window appears, type in ipconfig /all
- After typing ipconfig/ all press Enter
- Then find the 12-character code to the right of the physical Address (for example: 00-E0-29-1C-3D-87
- Then remove the dashes from insight the address for example: 00E0291C3D87
Obtaining a FLEXid number
The flexlm license server number is written on the key just after the text FLEXid =
It begins with the number 9 followed by a dash, for example 9 -41EDBB01
The text written on a Dongle looks like this:
HASP4 M1 133-4bC
FLEXid = 9-41EDBB01
In this case the FLEXid number is 9-41EDBB01
License for Single Workstation:
In Windows Vista or Windows 7 workstations the file path is C:\ProgramData\Lectra
\Licenses directory.
Installing Procedure in Single Workstation
- First click Start Menu
- Then click All Programs
- Then click Lectra
- Then click Tools
- Then click Settings.
- Then a window appear
- Then Double click on the License folder to open license server
- Then copy the license file by dragging and dropping it into this folder
Installing Procedure in Networked Workstation
- First click Start Menu
- Then click All Programs
- Then click Lectra
- Then click Tools
- Then click Settings.
- Then a window appear
- Double click on the folder corresponding to the application
- Then double click on the txt file. This opens Wordpad to allow you to modify the file name
- The first line is to be replaced by the name of the computer that is the license server, using the following format: @<computername>; for example if the license server is Server1 the line must be @Server1
- Finally click Save Button
