GSM to UMTS WCDMA Migration:

  • Migration path from Global System for Mobile /GPRS to wcdma umts network
  • Migration of Global System for Mobile network architecture into 3rd Generation network architecture.
  • Migration of Global System for Mobile Technology into wcdma umts technology
  • Migration of Global System for Mobile Radio Access network into 3G Radio Access network.
  • Migration of Global System for Mobile signaling system into WCDMA signaling systems
  • Migration of Global System for Mobile network planning into 3rd Generation network planning.

What is UMTS :

UMTS means Universal Mobile Telecommunications System. 3G technology Teletalk Cellular Mobile system has been design where both Global System for Mobile BTS & UMTS Node B, GSM BSC & UMTS RNC, GSM Network Switching Subsystem (NSS) & UMTS Network Switching System (NSS) will use the same platform. UMTS  means network switching system will design for both circuit switched domain for speech, video telephony, real-time data transfer as well as packet switched domain for non real-time data transfer.
